6 Wedding Skin Must-Haves

In the days leading up to your wedding, you might find yourself stressing and worrying about your skin. What can you do to prevent a breakout? How can you ensure healthy skin?

First off, know that you are not alone. Countless brides share your fear and find themselves searching far and wide for any solution to ensure healthy wedding-day skin. Lucky for you, you’ve come to the right place—and you have options.

While the best solutions will depend on everything from your biology to your budget, we believe there are a handful of tips and products that can help every bride in her search for perfect skin.

It's no secret that planning a wedding can be stressful, but prepping your skin for the big day doesn't have to be. Our friend Chassandre, a wedding dress designer and founder of Lavictoireasked us to share our tips and must-have products to help you achieve that bridal glow. So, let's get started!

1. GIVE YOURSELF 2-3 MONTHS OF FULL SKIN-PREPPING BEFORE YOUR WEDDING DAY.

Like your muscles, if you suddenly do an intense workout without stretching first your body cramps up. Your skin will be the same way, give your skin a few weeks to adjust, heal and improve before your big day.

2. "DEEP CLEANSE" YOUR PORES WITH CLAYS.

Once a week use a deep cleansing clay mask to pull up stubborn impurities from your pores.

Deep cleansing clays:

  • Glacial Coast Detox (detoxifying + pore-refining)
  • Moroccan Tangerine Clay (nourishing + rejuvenating)

3. MULTI-MASK WITH "GENTLE CLEANSING" CLAYS.

Did you know that clays are not created equal? Depending on where or how the clay is collected determines its power of pulling.

If you feel that your skin doesn't need a deep cleanse, but more of a gentle purifying cleanse, the following masks will fit your needs. You can use it over the entire face or use it to multi-mask with the deep cleansing clay masks.

For example, use the "deep cleansing clay masks" on your T-zone area (forehead, nose, chin) and use the "gentle cleansing clay masks" on the cheek and jaw area, where the skin tends to be more dry.

Gentle cleansing clays:

  • Tahitian Monoi Mud (softening + repairing)
  • Brazilian Supermask (antioxidant + recharging)

4. "ACTIVELY" AND "PHYSICALLY" EXFOLIATE, ONCE A WEEK.

Exfoliation is key! Once or twice a week use a brightening and exfoliating mask treatment to get bright, youthful and glowy skin.

A face mask with 2 x the renewal power:

  • Bali Papaya Rice (brightening + exfoliating)

Step 1: Apply over entire face, wait 15 minutes for the Vitamin C and papaya fruit and honey enzymes to "actively" exfoliate the skin. You may feel a slight tingle!

Step 2: Lightly splash your face with warm water and begin to "physically" scrub in small circular motions.

    5. EXFOLIATE YOUR SKIN "GENTLY" EVERYDAY. YES, EVERYDAY!

Concentrated exfoliations (physically with a device or done actively) are not recommended to be done daily, however the soft vegetable fibers of our Island Konjac sponge is gentle enough to use on the face everyday, twice a day!

    Everyday exfoliating Island Konjac sponges:

    • Pure Konjac (sensitive)
    • Pink Clay (combination)
    • Bamboo Charcoal (oily)

    6. CALM IT ALL DOWN WITH HONEY + ROSEWATER.

After an intense facial workout, a nice cool drink of hydration is always needed. The final step is the cool down phase, something to soothe, hydrate and boost radiance.

    •  Egyptian Honey Rose (hydrating + radiance)
